How a native English moth became the symbol of Vapoura

What’s in a name? Quite a lot, in our case.

When we began envisaging the kind of rum we wanted to create, we thought long and hard about the kind of world it would be entering. At the time, we felt the world needed a little more light, and we were determined to put out something that made a positive, lasting impact.

While finding the right name for our rum was important, we felt it was just as important to find the perfect symbol for this simple yet powerful idea. It was at this point that we discovered the Vapourer, a species of moth born and raised in England – just like our rum. Beautiful, evocative, and a reminder of the importance of time, it symbolises everything we wanted to convey with our liquid and story.

Riffing on the name for this native moth, our own rum was born: Vapoura. Beside it, the image of the moth, wings outspread. A beacon of hope and new beginnings. A traditional figure, brought into the spirits world in an untraditional way.

From our bottle to our serves to our events, it makes its presence known throughout the world of Vapoura, revelling in the beauty between light and dark. A signature is born.
